Some interesting facts about Coconut tail(Kudumi).

Have you ever seen what is behind the coconut Tail(kudumi).You will find 3 eyes .These are considered to be 3 eyes of Shiva and each sampradya has a different way to deal with it.

Tamil Sampradaya: Coconut which is called as the poornaphalam will be offered in such a way that tail remains intact with the coconut till it is broken. This sampradaya believes in making the eyes visible only after breaking the coconut.

Kerala Sampradaya: Coconut which is called as the poornaphalam will be offered in such a way that tail will be removed before breaking. This sampradaya believes that the eyes should be visible before breaking it

Other Sampradayas: In some sampradayas coconut which is called poornaphalam will be offered in such a way that the tail will not be removed evening after breaking. This sampradaya believes in hiding the eyes.
