Namaskaram
Gita Jayanti is the day on which the sacred book of Hindu’s Bhagavad Gita was born. For the year 2018 this festival falls on Dec 18th . Sri Krishna who was the Sarathi of Arjuna gave him this hithopadesam when Arjuna was worried and full of sorrow that he has to go and kill his own kith and kin in the kurukshetra war. The Bhagavad Gita is the one stop solution for all our problems and guides us on how to attain Moksha. It is considered to be auspicious to have a Bhagavad Gita at home and generally on the day of Gita Jayanti it is especially auspicious to distribute free copies of Gita.
This festival is celebrated with Pomp and Glory in all Krishna temples like Iskon(Including Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams – TTD ) by reciting Bhagavath Gita Slokas and observe fasting since it falls on Ekadashi. Let’s all pray Lord Krishna together to provide us an opportunity to recite Bhagavad Gita sloka’s, understand, apply them in our day to day life and attain moksha.
