The day of Panguni Utharam is considered to be very special in the state of Tamilnandu since it is considered to be the wedding anniversary of Lord Shiva and Parvathi. Apart from this Divine couple many gods got married on this day.Panguni is special because of the coming together of the star Uthiram and Pournami.This year the events falls on 21-Mar-19.

Most of the Siva temples celebrate Bramhotsavams and in some of the temples Swamy goes to thirthavari.Avabrutha Snanam along with Swami on this day is considered to be very auspicious.

This day is observed as a special day in Lord Subrahmanya’s temple’s as well .Devotees carry¬†Pooja materials in Kavadai and offer them to Lord Subrahmanya. The devotees,in the fulfilment of their vows,carry the pooja material,in a ‘Kavadi’.And this is a very special feature of Subrahmanya temples also special poojas are performed in all Murugan temples in Tamil Nadu.In most of the temples in the Tamil Nadu state. Float festivals are the most common rituals observed during Panguni Uthiram
